Mojito

You can’t have a proper Mojito without muddling the mint and sugar (or simple syrup). Think of muddling not so much as crushing, but as pressing the mint and sugar together. This motion melds the flavors, releasing the mint and sweetness to create one unforgettable cocktail.

What You'll Need

  • 1 lime
  • 2 oz light rum
  • 10-12 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup club soda
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar or 1 oz simple syrup

How You Make It

  • Place approx. 10 mint leaves and the sugar or simple syrup in the bottom of a glass
  • Muddle the ingredients (be sure not to crush the mint leaves into small pieces)
  • Add two more lime wedges to the glass and continue muddling
  • Fill the glass with ice
  • Pour in the rum
  • Top with club soda
  • Stir, garnish with a mint sprig, and enjoy!Â
