The Bertani Family

In the heart of Valpolicella Classica, the Bertani Family has been crafting elegant expressions of terroir since their sixteenth-century origins. This Saturday, the current owner and winemaker Giovanni Bertani (pictured on the left) will be joining us from the villa, as we discuss the great history and wine of the region and of the family.

Head to the nearest Green's and purchase the wines listed below before the tasting:
TENUTA SANTA MARIA PRÀGAL ROSSO
$14.99 (cash price)
This mesmerizing red is a blend of native Corvina, Merlot, and Syrah. Ruby red in color, it is a fruity, spicy wine with black cherries, raspberry preserves, licorice and cinnamon sticks coming together for a palate with soft, supple tannins and a mouthwatering brightness. Truly a lovely sipper!

TENUTA SANTA MARIA LEPIGA SOAVE
$14.99 (cash price)
This Soave is a beautiful expression of the native varietal Garganega! Lovely bouquet, with white flowers, beeswax, peaches and pears, accented with almonds and cinnamon, the palate is rich and creamy, anchored with a tingling acidity. Fresh and complex!

TENUTA SANTA MARIA VALPOLICELLA SUPERIORE
$19.99 (cash price)

The classic blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella sees a nice long maceration and fermentation, followed by at least 14 months resting in large oak barrels. This slow practice yields a wine with beautiful texture, balanced by an impressive powerful structure.
