Ommegang Abbey Ale

ommegang

Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

Reviews
"Ommegang is sweet up front, balancing quickly and becoming complex and rich on the middle palate with caramel, orange, pepper, ripe fruit and soft licorice notes. The semi-dry finish is just as complex, with notes again of ripe fruit, dry herbs and fresh black peppercorn. I can say unabashedly that Ommegang's Belgian-style Abbey Ale is the best 'first-brewed' beer of any brewery I have yet tasted."

Hennepin Farmhouse Ale

One of USA Today's Top Ten Sips!
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue.The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons (Biere de Garde in France).

Reviews
"Hennepin, a stylish ale with flavors of orange, toasted grain and ginger. Alternately spicy and silky, it is complex, crisp and a great accompaniment to farmhouse cheeses".
